Scenario
A ranching family in Montana must defend themselves against others who are occupying their land. Forrie J. Smith, who plays Lloyd, is a seasoned rodeo fan. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) seems to frequently “forget” his Montana accent and goes back to his usual Southern California voice. Featured in WatchMojo: Top 10 Summer TV Shows You Don’t Have on Your Screen (2018). I live in Darby, Montana, where most of the scenes are filmed – just yesterday they were filming right across from me in a field with a few horses and cattle. I think the show has a pretty solid story and is in the niche where Costner does his best. One thing I noticed about the first season, being half Native American, is that it makes you wonder who the good guys are and who the bad guys are – maybe both sides are good and bad. I admit, it’s nice to watch them filming here, the ranch is just down the road from me and I pass by almost daily on my way to fishing in the Bitterroot River.
